“Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.” (Psalm 4:7 KJV)
No one can deny the importance of our physical food and sustenance, but God’s filling satisfies a deeper longing. In this Bible verse above, the Psalmist expresses the greater value he places on what God gives than on the security of having an abundance of earthly food.
The joy that we receive from God touches the part of us that is invisible to the eye but that is vital for our spiritual well-being.
